Wed, 21 Sep 2011 07:34:00 -0700 Passion and Patience http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/passion-and-patience http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/passion-and-patience

Passion needs a portion of insanity, to survive in. A certain amount that doesn't make you insane really, but that doesn't leave you socially sane too. It is what gives birth to a new form. Any new form of idea, art or any life is a child of passion.

Patience is the gift of time, the only gift that survives the test of time. It helps you to make sense of an utter chaos. It reveals why and hows of everything. It reveals what matters and what doesn't. It has all the answers in its lap. It is the virtue that nurtures life in the toughest of times.

Passion and patience are just like the mother and the father. For any new form to take shape with your actions, there has to be a beautiful union of passion and patience within yourself. Both of them must not only let each other survive but must also compliment each other in the most romantic of ways, coming together to achieve what none of them could in itself. This creates an environment for a new life to happen. A life that is not just a flash that sparks and dies away. A life that is not just a fight for survival. But a throbbing colorful life.

Sun, 24 Jul 2011 00:55:25 -0700 Even if its a possibility http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/even-if-its-a-possibility http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/even-if-its-a-possibility If by any chance there is an ultimate, if there's an infinite, anything else compared to it would be worthless. This thought once comes within creates both fear and hope. Fear of having spent an entire known lifespan in pursuing worthless, and hope of having something better ever seen or imagined.

Clearly, pursuing worthless makes no sense even if there is no possibility of worthwhile. But the concept of relative success, even relative philanthropy or even more of relative spirituality makes worthless worthwhile. This creates a haze over a clear choice. Relativity has to be gotten over with, if absolute is to be pursued intensely.

Mon, 18 Apr 2011 08:17:00 -0700 Government, reforms and revolutions http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/government-reforms-and-revolutions http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/government-reforms-and-revolutions

For a reform, a threat of revolution is necessary. - Bhagat Singh

The root cause of corruption lies in the mutual conflicts of masses. To resolve these conflicts comes into play a 'supreme common power - the government'. For such a society to function, its government must function well and anybody rebelling must be destroyed. The ultimate judiciary control over the masses in the hands of few is bound to lead to a corrupt state. So corruption is the fundamental design flaw of such a system.

There have been a great number of revolutions through out the history and an enormous number of revolutionaries made the ultimate sacrifice for the betterment of the system, and yet not a single clean state emerged out of all of this.

As I dig deeper into my thought process, the thoughts operating at that level become more and more trivial. Mind automatically creates a complicated illusion out of some simple beliefs it accumulates.

- To whichever extent we can control ourselves is the maximum limit of control we have over anything else.
- If we can't control something and are yet deeply affected by it, we are enslaved by it.

Sun, 02 May 2010 09:13:32 -0700 Big and small things in life http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/big-and-small-things-in-life http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/big-and-small-things-in-life I was too worried about big things such as career or life, so I went out to enjoy a couple of small things, got a tel malish, ate some plates of hot steamed momos, a fresh pineapple pastry, and drove in the nice drizzly windy weather. Life seems so magnificent again and makes me think that if I could have an amazing evening anytime I wish to, whatever kind of career or life I have doesn't really matter.

As a great guy once said - if you are worrying too much, you are worrying about the wrong thing.

If you think about it, how many times have a small thing like good food, a good snack, a nice game a easy chit chat made ur day and how many times a big thing like a degree or a career or a living standard has made your day. In a routine life, its not the big things that matter, its the small subtle things, things which go unnoticed and yet decide the very quality of your life.

The importance of such big things is that they are supposed to bring many small things in your life. Yet if we miss the small things in pursuit of big things, the pursuit in itself makes no sense.

Wed, 14 Apr 2010 03:40:18 -0700 Doing stuff http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/doing-stuff-1 http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/doing-stuff-1 Being able to do any thing is freedom, doing anything at all is stupidity, doing what works is practicality. Knowing what works and doing it for the desired cause is called technology, finding out what works and then how to do it better is science.

Having too many words about doing stuff, and doing nothing is laziness. The hatred of doing anything resulting out of such laziness is called boredom. The desire to do anything crazy resulting out of this boredom is adventure and the courage born out of that adventure results in freedom.

Wed, 07 Apr 2010 11:53:35 -0700 Significance of Art http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/significance-of-art http://oneliners.gauravbansal.com/significance-of-art Art makes you free of yourself.

It deepens the desire to burst out, burn down, melt away and get lost. It makes you crave the bliss beyond all comforts.

When one experiences art, there is no observer waiting to understand nor is there an artist waiting to be understood. It makes no sense since it is beyond senses.

Intelligence is inversely proportional to explanation required for understanding the same thing.

Social acceptance is directly propotional to the explaination one can tolerate for the same thing.
